TravelNest is an Edinburgh-based travel tech startup. We have created a platform that enables holiday let owners to set up, manage and optimise all of their marketing from one place.
We work in cross-functional teams, each dedicated to a different area of the business. Examples include our onboarding flow, marketing optimisation, API integrations and internal process automation.

About the Role
You will support and work closely with our engineering team, helping them to deliver on their goals and improve themselves personally and professionally. This will involve working directly with individuals, unblocking technical problems, managing new/developing managers, having regular one-to-ones and feedback sessions, as well as getting involved in wider-reaching initiatives such as helping to shape our organisational practices and principles.
You’ll work with the Engineering Director to represent engineering’s voice across the business, working with our leadership team and non-engineering stakeholders to represent the needs of the engineering team, and make sure that engineers have the context they need to solve problems effectively.

- Experience in working to enable teams building out technical web based products
- An empathetic people manager with a strong technical background
- Someone to work closely with our product team to make sure their engineers are delivering effectively
- A cultural role model that others will look to for guidance
- Someone to help raise the bar technically within the engineering team, by encouraging learning and proactively bringing in new ideas and technologies

Tech in TravelNest
The travel tech industry provides some unique challenges - our day-to-day involves working with a range of third party providers with different technical approaches, so the core of our business is in building resilient integrations that can provide immediate feedback on the state of asynchronous processes.
Our mobile platform is intended to be developed in React Native and beyond that we have a microservice architecture using a mix of Python and Node.js for our services and React with Redux (via TypeScript) for the frontend.
We practice continuous delivery to production with safety through automated tests and alerts. As engineers we take responsibility for testing, deploying and monitoring the services we build. TravelNest has no specific devops or QA roles - the engineering team owns the full life-cycle of the features we build and deploy.
