What will I be doing day-to-day?
You will be working closely with our Product Manager and Development Team to ensure product quality and reliability as we deliver the next iteration of the DRAMS solution, currently being developed using Angular. This will involve designing, maintaining, and executing automatic and manual tests on new and existing software.
As the sole dedicated testing resource in DRAMS, this is an exciting opportunity for a confident and experienced tester to take full ownership of the DRAMS testing function. This will include the selection and implementation of tools and processes which will ensure that our products meet customer expectations, consistent with product design. You will become an expert in our product set and in the customer processes we support within the distilling industry.
Main Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated (currently Cypress) test plans and their assets, including test data, and other necessary components
- Define and document acceptance criteria and test plans for new development tasks based on analysis of functional requirements and user stories
- Record and report on test results, including failure modes, untestable designs, and other flaws and work with developers to address and resolve failures
- Write supporting system documentation and release notes
- Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
- Keep user experience front of mind during testing and suggest usability improvements where necessary
- Taking ownership of testing processes, continually looking for opportunities to maximise testability and automatic testing coverage, and suggesting and implementing improvements to working methods
- Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies, maintaining Priority 1 defect release record to ensure high availability of software

What do I need to be eligible to apply?
- Prior experience of automated testing and test management
- Prior experience of any scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, etc.) for the purpose of creating and maintaining automated tests
- Working knowledge of modern quality assurance and test management practices
- Working knowledge of tools used to execute and report on automates tests
- Familiarity with secure software design fundamentals
- Proven ability to diagnose and solve problems
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- An eye for detail and preference for “number problems” including comfort and skill working with numeric data
- Good team working skills with the ability to listen, support and value colleagues
- An organised, disciplined approach to work with excellent time management skills
- Ability to deal with multiple activities in parallel and work under pressure
- Confident manner and a determination and ability to learn new skills
- Currently holds independent right to work in the UK
